Dubai: Location and price are no longer the only priorities for UAE property seekers. New data from Property Finder reveals that maid’s rooms have become one of the most searched-for home features in 2024–2025, reflecting evolving family dynamics and changing lifestyle needs across the Emirates.
According to the report, maid’s rooms recorded 5.7 million searches, ranking second overall among the most desired property features — just behind balconies, which topped the list with over 10 million searches. This trend highlights how buyers and renters are now focusing more on functionality and comfort rather than just location or cost.
Property Finder’s analysis of 30 million property searches revealed distinct patterns between buyers and renters. Apartment seekers favor balconies for extra outdoor space and relaxation, while villa owners value them for improved views and airflow.
The research also categorized UAE residents’ preferences into three main themes — essential comforts, climate and community needs, and lifestyle or luxury features.
Among shared amenities, swimming pools and gyms continue to attract strong interest, ranking fourth and fifth with 3.4 million and 3 million searches respectively.
Meanwhile, pet-friendly homes are becoming increasingly popular, signaling a cultural shift as more residents treat pets as part of the family. The UAE’s pet care market, valued at USD 350–400 million, further supports this growing demand for animal-friendly communities.
Luxury preferences remain strong, with private pools ranking seventh overall at 2.7 million searches, prized for leisure, exclusivity, and entertainment value. Covered parking, waterfront views, and private gardens also feature prominently in the top ten, underscoring the continued appeal of comfort, convenience, and lifestyle-driven living in the UAE property market.
